Season 1 of D.P., based on the 2015 Lezhin webtoon D.P. Dog Days, captured the attention of viewers with its uncompromising scenes presenting the real analysis of how violent, cruel bullying and inflexible hierarchies push young South Korean males to go to nearly any extent to dodge military service. The 58th Baeksang Arts Awards named it Best TV Drama while The New York Times called it one of the greatest TV Series of 2021. And now D.P. 2 is coming to break the record again.

Plot

Through its narrative in D.P. Season 1, it digs at the difficult and often traumatic experiences people have while serving their country in the military.

Season 2 will explore the fallout from the tragic events of the previous season’s finale. After Suk Bong’s suicide, the events of D.P. Season 2 take an extreme turn, with Sergeant Park being held accountable for his role in the suicide and Captain Ji Sup being moved to a separate unit. While still serving his military obligation, Ahn Joon Ho takes part in marching training with other new members, but he finally wanders off in a different direction. The second season will centre on Joon Ho’s efforts to escape arrest using the knowledge and training he received as a D.P. soldier. A history of bullying and harassment among the military ranks may also be revealed in the following season, as hinted at by Detective Han’s intentions for a comprehensive investigation into Suk Bong’s unit in Season 1.
