Daisy Edgar Jones’ ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ to release on September 16 in India

The movie follows a woman who raised herself in the marshes of the deep South and becomes a suspect in the murder of a man she was once involved with.

New Delhi: After a fine run in the USA and several other countries, Daisy Edgar Jones’ mystery-thriller ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ is finally arriving in India. The film is set to release on September 16 in theatres. The film is based on a novel with the same title, authored by Delia Owens.

The movie follows a woman who raised herself in the marshes of the deep South and becomes a suspect in the murder of a man she was once involved with. Directed by Olivia Newman, the film stars Daisy Edgar Jones and Taylor John Smith in the lead along with Harris Dickinson, David Strathairn, Michael Hyatt, Ahna O’Rilley and others. Lucy Alibar has penned the adapted screenplay.

The film was released on July 15 in the USA and will be released in India two months after the original date.  ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ received mixed reviews both from the audience and the critics. The film’s music is composed by Mychael Danna, who won the Oscars for his work in ‘Life of Pi’, while the cinematography was done by Polly Morgan, who is known for her work in ‘Legion’.
