Dark Matter OTT Release Date: On May 8, 2024, the series will debut worldwide on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes.

New Delhi: Dark Matter, a science fiction novel by American Blake Crouch, delves into parallel worlds and the decisions that shape our identities in a way that captivates readers even after all this time has passed since its 2016 release.

Crouch has promised to bring the fascinating plot twists and turns from the novel to the screen in a live-action series based on the book, followed by the book’s iconic status. Coming soon to Apple TV+ is the science fiction thriller Dark Matter, created by Blake Crouch.

Blake Crouch’s participation as showrunner guarantees a meticulous live-action adaptation, which is great news for fans of the book who are thrilled to see that the little detail is a true replication of its equivalent in the novel.

Plot

In the story, a man’s life takes a surprising turn when he finds himself kidnapped and transported to a parallel timeline. Amid a surreal environment filled with other realities, he sets out on a perilous quest to reunite with his real family and save them from an even more dangerous enemy – himself.

Jason Dessen, an average professor, physicist, and family guy is swept away from his familiar Chicago streets and dropped into a terrifying other world after being entangled in a web of endless possibilities.

A perilous journey to recover his real family awaits him, and he must face agonizing decisions that mirror the life he may have had. But the most horrifying adversary he encounters is not an outside force; rather, it is a mirror image of himself that stares back at him with a chilling intensity.

When and Where to Watch?

On May 8, 2024, the series will debut worldwide on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes. There will likely be nine episodes of the much-anticipated science fiction series. Up until June 26th, new episodes will drop weekly on Wednesdays.

Cast and Crew

Jason Dessen, played by Joel Edgerton, and Daniela Vargas Dessen, his leading woman, is portrayed by Jennifer Connelly. Oakes Fegley, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Alice Braga are all part of the cast.

Joining Blake Crouch in the executive producer and writer positions are Matt Tolmach and David Manpearl. Sony Pictures Television is in charge of producing the show.
