“Daughter started crying after watching Animal”, says female MP Ranjeet Ranjan in Rajya Sabha

Helmed by ace director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal sees Ranbir Kapoor as the lead character while featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, and Bobby Deol in other key roles

New Delhi: From Day 1 of its release in the theaters, Ranbir Kapoor’s crime-drama Animal has been an unstoppable force at the Box office and is continuously shattering one after another record.

However, despite cruising towards a monumental success on the ticket window, the Sandeep Reddy directorial has unpleased a significant section of society due to its objectionable dialogues and misogynistic content and this recent remark of Chhattisgarh’s INC MP Ranjeet Ranjan is a perfect example of the same.

‘Daughter cried after watching Animal’

Speaking about the film in Rajya Sabha, Ranjeet Ranjan, who is INC’s MP from Chhattisgarh, said that she got distressed after watching Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal

The MP even revealed that the movie disturbed her daughter so much that she ended up crying and the same compelled her to walk out of the theater, leaving the film midway.

Narrating the entire ordeal while speaking with Aaj Tak, Congress Leader MP Ranjan said, “Cinema is like a mirror of the society. We all have grown up watching it, watching cinema and youth is quite influenced nowadays such films are coming, if you start from Kabir Singh to Pushpa and now a movie is going on ‘Animal‘.”

“I won’t be able to tell you that my daughter had many girls with her who were in college’s second year. She cried while watching the picture and dashed out of the cinema hall”, Ranjan added further.

Later, while citing the example of Sandeep Reddy’s release Kabir Singh, the MP also slammed the director and added that films must not glorify misogyny and violence against women as the same sends a bad message to society.

Animal Box Office Collection Day 7

Meanwhile, ignoring all the outcry and criticism, Ranbir’s Animal saw another blockbuster day at the BO and minted Rs 25.30 crore (India) on the 7th day of its theatrical run.

The film’s total collection now stands at a whopping  Rs 527.6 crore (Worldwide), making it the highest-grossing flick of 2024.

Helmed by ace director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal sees Ranbir Kapoor as the lead character while featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, and Bobby Deol in other key roles. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar and was released under the banner of T-series on 1 December.
