New Delhi: Alia Bhatt won the Best Actor (Female) Award at the 68th Filmfare Awards for her performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. This was the fifth time she took home the prestigious black lady and taking to her Instagram handle, she shared the pictures from the night and penned a heartfelt note. The actor expressed gratitude towards filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the crew.
Penning the note, Alia wrote that the day the film was wrapped, she told the cast and crew that the outcome does not matter as the experience of shooting the film, learning, and growing under the guidance of Sanjay Leela Bhansali was equal to a blockbuster for her. She added that she left the sets as a changed person because of the team.

Alia wrote Gangubai is her alter ego, and belongs to you Bhansali. She thanked the director for believing in her and wrote she will forever be in his debt.
She thanked her family for the support and blessings and mentioned Ranbir for listening to her rants and motivating her whenever she felt low. She added that her daughter was not there when she shot the film but will continue to thank the rest of her life for the joy and peace Raha brings.
The actor shared a picture with the black lady while in another one, she can be seen receiving the award from veteran actor Rekha.
Alia has previously won Filmfare for ‘Highway’, ‘Udta Punjab’, ‘Raazi’ and ‘Gully Boy’. ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ ruled the night as the film won 10 awards including the ones for Best Film and Best Director.
Alia Bhatt will next be seen opposite Ranveer Singh in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. She also has ‘Heart of Stone’ alongside Gal Gadot and ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ with Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra in the pipeline.
