New Delhi: Director Bala and his wife Muthumalar officially get a divorce on March 5 at a family court. The couple decided to call it quits after 17 years of togetherness.
The duo were living separately for the past few years. As per the media reports, Bala and Muthumalar had been living separately for the last 4 years.
Bala and Muthumalar, who tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in 2004, in Madurai, share a daughter, named Prarthana.
The marriage started falling apart when Bala got too busy with his movies while Muthumalar was mostly seen spending time with her friends from the industry.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Bala made it to the headlines recently for his last project, Dhruv Vikram’s Varmaa.
He is now preparing for his upcoming project with actor Suriya in the lead role. Actor Jyothika will be seen sharing the screen opposite Suriya in the upcoming untitled film.
Backed by 2D Entertainment, music composed by GV Prakash Kumar, the shoot for the film will go on floors soon.
