New Delhi: April 2023 appears to be a tough month for Disney Hotstar users, with a slew of new episodes and movies set to debut on the OTT platform. This month’s roster includes everything from sports dramas to advice columnist dramas, architecture shows to South Korean spy dramas and classic fairy tale versions to original fantasy adventures.
Following are the top picks from Disney+ Hotstar’s new releases this April:
1. The Crossover
Premiere Date: April 5
Basketball and sports movie fans can look forward to ‘The Crossover,’ a new series adapted on Kwame Alexander’s best-selling novel. The show revolves around the lives of teen brothers Josh and Jordan Bell, who are already well-known basketball players in their community. The show also dives into their parents’ story, which are battling to adjust to their changed circumstances.
2. Tiny Beautiful Things
Premiere Date: April 7
Little Wonderful Things, based on Cheryl Strayed’s best-selling series, is another highly anticipated show. The drama, which stars Kathryn Hahn, chronicles the life of a writer who becomes an advice columnist after her life breaks apart. Despite her personal issues, she assists others by providing advise and guidance.
3. Rennervations
Premiere Date: April 12
Rennervations is available to Jeremy Renner fans. The actor and his team of expert builders recreate government vehicles as “mind-blowing marvels” that make a positive impact on the lives of youngsters in this new series.
4. Family
Premiere Date: April 17
Family, a South Korean drama series starring Jang Hyuk and Jang Na-ra, depicts the lives of a couple who live two lives. Kwon Do-hoon works as a secret spy for the National Intelligence Service, and his wife Yoo-ra also has a secret that will be exposed in subsequent episodes.
5. Peter Pan and Wendy
Premiere Date: April 28
Last but not least, a live-action remake of the famous cartoon picture Peter Pan and Wendy will be released on Disney Plus Hotstar. The film, directed by David Lowery and co-written with Toby Halbrooks, follows Wendy Darling and Peter Pan as they travel to the mysterious Neverland and battle the treacherous Captain Hook.
