New Delhi: Satramm Ramani, known for ‘Helmet’, is coming up with ‘Double XL’, a film revolving around the stereotype of body weight. The makers released the film’s teaser and announced that ‘Double XL’ will release in cinemas on October 14. The comedy-drama stars Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles.
The teaser shows Sonakshi and Huma sitting on a bench and discussing the issues faced by women, who are shamed for their body weight. As they talk about issues like the size of the jeans and what boys desire for, they laugh out loud by cracking jokes about them. The 31-second clip shows that the audience is in for a comedy movie with a social commentary. Sharing the teaser, both the actors wrote, “From fries to fun..all good things in life come in #DoubleXL sizes! 😉 A story of friendship and dreams filled with masti is coming to CINEMAS near you on 14th Oct 2022.”

The plot of the film revolves around the journey of two plus-size women Rajshree Trivedi from Meerut and Saira Khanna from New Delhi as they navigate society’s beauty standards. The film also stars Zaheer Iqbal, Karis Pentecost and Seana Momsen along with others. The screenplay of the film is written by Mudassar Aziz and Sasha Khan.
Talking about the film, Huma said, “I really believe that social change happens through fun, commercial, and family entertainer films.”
The film is shot in the UK and is produced by Mudassar Aziz. ‘Double XL’ is presented under the banners of T-Series and Wakaoo Films.
