Plot

In 2019, a mysterious flash suddenly petrifies ostensibly all humans. Therefore, The human race is frozen in stone for 3,700 years until in a twist of fate in the month of April 5738, when 16-year-old prodigy Senku Ishigami is suddenly revived to find himself in a world where all traces of human civilization have been eroded by time, leaving nothing but fragments of what once existed or could have been.

Therefore, Senku sets up a base camp, examining the bodies of the petrified humans, both to find a cause and a cure. Over the next six months, a successful revival of Senku’s friend Taiju Oki, Senku learns their revival was made possible with nitric acid. With this discovery, they are granted, therefore, the power to bring the petrified humans back to life.

Hence, they develop a compound that will allow them to instantly revive others. They begin by reviving a famous high school martial artist named Tsukasa Shishio and their classmate Yuzuriha Ogawa to rebuild civilization with a focus on science.

However, it seems things take a turn for the worse when Tsukara reveals that he doesn’t quite share the same ideologies as Senku does, believing the old world was tainted and should not be restored.

Instead, he desires to establish a new world order based on power and strength, going so far as to destroy any petrified adults he encounters in order to prevent them from interfering with his goals. The anime follows the travels of Senku, as he fulfills small aims to ultimately succeed in bringing a world where science is the utmost focus, into existence.
