Dunki Vs Salaar Box Office: Prabhas’ movie pips Shah Rukh’s comedy-drama, set to lead BO race with huge margin

Salaar is looking all geared up to give Prabhas a dreamy comeback at the BO after the debacle of his previous release Adipurush earlier this year

New Delhi: 2023 saw its last major box office showdown in the form of Salaar and Dunki’s ultimate clash at the Box Office.

While Bollywood’s king Shah Rukh arrived with his third movie of the year Dunki yesterday, Prabhas looked right into his eyes by releasing his highly awaited Magnum opus Salaar: The Ceasefire today.  So which of these two Pan-Indian stars is currently winning in this epic “Clash of the Titans” at the box office? Let’s find out.

Dunki vs Salaar Box Office battle

Shah Rukh’s comedy-drama Dunki arrived on the big screens on Thursday, a day prior to Prabhas’s Salaar. However, despite the head start & rave reviews from the cinegoers the Rajkumar Hirani directorial managed to mint around 30 crore rupees on its opening day at the box office.

Although Dunki’s day 1 figures are still decent, they look small when compared with Shah Rukh’s previous 2023 releases Jawan and Pathan. Nonetheless, this was bound to happen as unlike Jawan & Pathan, Dunki is not a mass actioner so its reception in the mass-centric regions was expected to be lukewarm.

Moreover, unlike Prabhas’ Salaar, the Tapsee Pannu starrer was released exclusively in the Hindi language and the same is another big reason behind its relatively lesser BO collection on Day 1.

Despite all this, one still can’t write off SRK’s Dunki yet as the film as Rajkumar Hirani’s films are known for their longevity instead of massive earth-shattering opening figures and for the same reason, fans & trade experts are still positive about the movie’s performance in the long run.

Salaar set to outperform Dunki?

Meanwhile, Salaar is looking all geared up to give Prabhas a dreamy comeback at the BO after the debacle of his previous release Adipurush earlier this year. As per the predictions & estimates, the film is set to amass anything between Rs 95 crore (domestic in all languages) on its day 1.

Another good news for Prabhas’ movie is that several south Indian states like Telangana have allowed the cinemas to screen the film at 1 am & 6 am in an attempt to fulfill its massive demand amongst the fans.

All these factors make it more than obvious that Prashanth Neil’s action-packed flick is going to lead comfortably in the BO collection again’s SRK’s Dunki in the coming weekend.

However, with Christmas & New Year right at the door, the extended holiday season, without a doubt, is going to pull more and more crowds into the theaters, giving a boost to the BO collection of both films.
