New Delhi: Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), the adopted daughter of Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), will be the focus of the next series that follows her after Hawkeye’s actions. This will be Marvel’s first TV-MA-rated series.
The stakes are at an all-time high in Echo, where Lopez was last seen wreaking havoc on Kingpin for his role in her biological father’s murder.
Plot
According to the show’s premise, viewers will uncover Echo’s backstory while also seeing Maya Lopez, whose cold-blooded actions in New York eventually catch up with her in her hometown. For her future to be bright, she must accept the significance of family and community, as well as confront her Native American background.
Despite Maya’s best efforts to carve out a new path for herself, the show will almost certainly keep focusing on her ties to the Kingpin and her criminal associations.
Earlier, in Hawkeye’s series finale, Maya abandoned the Tracksuit Mafia and her closest buddy Kazi. In Maya’s last scene, she confronts a wounded Fisk and points her gun at the man who killed her two loved ones, as Fisk tries to talk himself out of it.
When and Where to Watch?
Disney Plus Hotstar will release all of Echo’s episodes on January 10, 2024. Viewers in the United States will be able to see the series late on the 9th of January, while those in India will have to wait until the 10th of January, all because of the different time zones.
This marks a first: the simultaneous distribution of a whole Marvel series on the platform.
#Echo while there is a lot to enjoy like the great action scenes, refreshing bloodier tone, & lead star. The show feels very unfocused. Battling between being a street crime thriller & establishing a larger piece of MCU history. I wish I loved it more, you can feel its potential. pic.twitter.com/kSMngvdt4l

#Echo is the MCU like you’ve never seen before. It’s bloody, action-packed, and frightening. Alaqua Cox is so admirably talented that is impossible not to enjoy. Some plot moments could’ve been better developed but this show is honestly a true winner.

#Echo is BRUTAL, UNFLINCHING & RELENTLESS. Alaqua Cox & Vincent D’Onofrio bring a level of RAWNESS and DEPTH to the MCU not seen since the Daredevil series. Its storytelling is intricate and captivating, while the action is rich & ruthless, making it the first must-watch of 2024. pic.twitter.com/lsfx43e7Gu
