New Delhi: The 2023 American documentary Every Body was produced by NBC News Studios and directed by the acclaimed director Julie Cohen.
A sequence of gender reveal celebrations introduces Julie Cohen’s latest feature film. This tradition, in which parents-to-be prepare a lavish party centred on the expected and later revealed sex of their unborn child, exemplifies society’s dedication to the concept of two genders.
The film follows three intersex people who, despite growing up in an environment of shame, secrecy, and unapproved surgery, refused to let it define them. Jio Cinema will soon be the venue for the documentary’s OTT debut.

Plot
The film follows the lives of three people who overcame troubled upbringings brought on by non-consensual surgery, shame, and secrecy to become successful adults after rejecting medical advice to hide their bodies and embracing their true identities.
River Gallo (actor and screenwriter), Alicia Roth Weigel (political strategist), and Sean Saifa Wall (PhD student) are at the forefront of a rapidly expanding international movement calling for more acceptance of the intersex population and an end to needless surgery.
The tale is interwoven with a strange example of medical abuse, which is shown via a unique film from the NBC News archives. This footage sheds light on how intersex persons are treated today.
When and Where to Watch?
Beginning on December 30, 2023, viewers will be able to see Every Body on Jio Cinema, allowing them to witness another masterwork by Julie Cohen.
