Storyline
In the opening scenes, we meet Teresa played by Mirabai Pease, Caleb played by Richard Crouchley, and Jessica played Anna-Maree Thomas, three happy campers spending their time in a cabin in the woodlands. In a different scenario, Beth played by Lily Sullivan pays a visit to her sister Ellie played by Alyssa Sutherland, who is a single mother and lives with her children.
The story takes a turn changing the course of events when the scene shows that there is an earthquake that breaks through the house basement and created a hole. Ellie’s son, Danny, curiously starts exploring the hole and discovers several old objects, one of which is a scary book. The evil teeth were seen snapping out as soon as Danny opened the book. With this scene, the real battle for the survival of the two sisters begins.
Review
The cinematography in Evil Dead Rise is stunning, and the film has a number of iconic moments that are sure to grab your attention. Some of these sequences include the one in which the carnage is seen through a peephole and the one in which a face is seen stuck in the glass of a homicidal mirror. And that last, the shot is simply so perfect that one will practically shout in horror, mirroring the scream of dread.
The other co-stars, including the lead stars Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland, made the film come to life for viewers. Everything about the characters and how they were portrayed in the narrative made sense. Horror films are often reliant on their sound design, and this one achieves the ideal balance between visual score and sound effects.
