Exclusive: Despite string of failures, Salman inks Rs 500 crore deal with OTT Platform

In 2021, when Zee5 released Bhaijaan’s Radhey on its streaming service, it received an overwhelming response. So much so that the Zee5 OTT platform crashed.

New Delhi: Just when the critics thought that Bollywood’s Bhaijaan has hit the lowest point of his career, Salman Khan proved all of them wrong by inking a whopping 500 crore deal with OTT platform Zee5.

This is yet another example that how he performs at the box office makes little to no difference to his mega-stardom.

Recently, The 57-year-old actor has succeeded in cracking a multi-crore deal with an ott platform.

This comes as a surprise because his ambitious Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jan underperformed heavily at the box office. The family entertainer somehow dragged itself to cross the 100 crore mark, and the initial weekend was painful to witness.

The film not only turned out to be a commercial failure but also was criticized on the director’s part.

However, things are seemingly turning in Salman Khan’s favor again. As per the latest reports, the Megastar has recently signed a deal with ott platform Zee5 through which exclusive satellite rights of all upcoming films released after January 2023 will be locked with the platform for the next five years.

It is noteworthy that the collaboration between Salman Khan and Zee5 goes years back. In 2021, when Zee5 released Bhaijaan’s Radhey on its streaming service, it received an overwhelming response. So much so that the Zee5 OTT platform crashed.

Breaking viewership records, Salman Khan made a whopping sum of Rs. 450 crores effortlessly by teaming up with ZEE5.

However, it is important to mention that Salman’s much-awaited Tiger 3 won’t be coming under the ambit of this deal as YRF Productions has already signed an attractive deal with another Ott platform for the same.
