New Delhi: The much-speculated remake of the 1979 film ‘Maula Jatt’ finally made its worldwide release on October 13. According to a report by Deadline, it enjoyed a record-breaking welcome on its opening weekend.
Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan starrer The Legend of Maula Jatt has set a new benchmark for Pakistani movies on the global front, as it garnered a whopping Rs 51 crore at the world box office.
The period action drama debuted in multiple regions across numerous screens and has become the highest-grossing Pakistani film ever.
Director Bilal Lashari took to Twitter and shared that the film has grossed over PKR 50 crore worldwide. His post further claimed that the movie is on top at the UAE box office while it stands at the sixth position in Canada. He further said that The Legend of Maula Jatt earned nearly PKR 11.30 crore at the Pak BO.

Lashari in his recent conversation with Deadline said that he is overwhelmed by the whopping response shown to the film by the audience and critics across the world. He said that he feels proud that The Legend of Maula Jatt was able to put Pakistani cinema on the global stage as it continues to grow in theatres worldwide.
Apart from Fawad and Mahira, the film also features Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malik in pivotal roles.
