New Delhi: Monsoons are officially here. Amidst the rains, it is not always possible to catch up on movies at the theatre. Thus, with a cup of chai and some pakodas, we can binge-watch several movies, and series streaming on OTTs at your favourite corner of the house.
This week seems to be a treat for binge-watchers as several OTTs will provide new movies and series on their platforms. Let’s take a look at some of them:
1. The Umbrella Academy Season 3 – Netflix
The third season of the Umbrella Academy will be streaming on Netflix from June 22. The series is based on a comic book by the same name, written by Gerard Way, which focuses on a gang of siblings with magnificent supernatural powers. The third season will have 10 episodes. Apart from the main cast, Javon Walton (Euphoria) will be playing a pivotal role in the series.
2. Sarkaru Vaari Paata – Amazon Prime
Mahesh Babu’s Telugu film Sarkaru Vaari Paata will be releasing on June 23. The movie stars Keerthy Suresh along with Babu, while Samuthirakani, Vennela Kishore, Nadhiya, and Subbaraju play supporting roles. The movie made a theatrical release on May 12.
3. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – Disney+Hotstar
Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released on June 21. Reportedly, the movie crossed the $400M mark at the US box office, making it the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 10th film to achieve this feat. The gross total of the film was more than $935M worldwide. The movie was released in the theatres on May 6.
4. Kuttavum Sikshayum – Netflix
The Malayalam movie, directed by Rajiv Ravi revolves around a real-life jewellery heist that took place in Kasaragod’s Kudamkuzhi in Kerala. The movie stars Asif Ali in the lead role where he operates a team of police officers to nab an organised and notorious gang from Rajasthan responsible for the heist. The movie will stream from June 24.
5. Forensic – Zee 5
Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte starring Forensic will release on June 24. The movie is a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name. Directed by Vishal Furia, the movie is a psychological thriller featuring Prachi Desai, Vindu Dara Singh, and Rohit Roy in pivotal roles.
