From Vikram to Indira: 5 films, web series releasing on OTT on July 8

The second Friday of July is going to be as fun as the first one with many films and web series releasing on various OTT platforms on July 8.

New Delhi: ‘Filmy Fridays’ with OTT is the new mantra for relaxation. Friday has always been an important day for Indian cinema. Most of the producers choose Fridays to release their films, looking forward to weekend sales. The second Friday of July is going to be as fun as the first one with many films and web series releasing on various OTT platforms on July 8.

1. Vikram

Kamal Haasan’s superhit film ‘Vikram’ is coming to OTT after a successful run in the theatres. The film has earned more than Rs 300 crore at the box office. ‘Vikram’ stars three National Award-winning actors, namely Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil.

The story follows members of a Black Ops team who must track and eliminate a gang of masked murderers. The film is set to release on Disney+Hotstar.

2. Modern Love: Hyderabad

Like other ‘Modern Love’ series, ‘Modern Love: Hyderabad’ explores six diverse yet universal stories of different facets and moods of love set in the city. The web series features Telugu stars like Nithya Menen, Komalee Prasad, V.K. Naresh, Revathi and many more.

The series will release on Amazon Prime Video.

3. This Much I Know to Be True

The film directed by Andrew Dominik revolves around the creative relationship and songs from Nick Cave and Warren Ellis’ last two studio albums, “Ghosteen” and “Carnage”. The documentary features Earl Cave, Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Marriane Faithfull and Andrew Dominik.

This music documentary is set to release on Mubi.

4. Indira

The Kannada film follows Indira who survives a suicide attempt but whose husband Sridhar is not so lucky. With memory and eyesight loss, Indira is shocked when she observes a pattern revolving around her caretaker and psychiatrist.

The mystery-thriller will release on Voot.

5. Incantation

‘Incantation’ is a Taiwanese horror film. The synopsis of the film reads, “WARNING: This is a cursed video, it might contain certain risks to watch; For those who dare to follow, please solve the puzzle of my daughter’s curse with me.”

Directed by Kevin Ko, Incantation is available on Netflix.
