New Delhi: Popular singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, who is famously known as KK, has been an incredible voice of the Indian film industry. He has given various romantic hits with his ever melodious voice which had the power to fill us with enthusiasm.
Today, May 31, 2023, marks the one-year anniversary of his death, leaving behind his transcending melody. His sudden demise was a huge shock for thousands of people. There have been generations, from the CD times to online streaming who have grown up humming KK songs. From breakups to family issues, his voice often worked to make our mood up.
KK debuted with a solo pop album ‘Pal’ in 1999, which garnered a huge fan base. His blockbuster songs, including Kya Mujhe Pyar Hai, Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar, Yaaron, Aap Ki Dua, Tadap Tadap Ke Is Dil Se, Labon Ko, Ankhon Mein Teri, among others, have just worked as an evergreen magic. In the current times of hiphop and rock beats, we still crave KK’s voice, whose melodious impact is unmatched.
Apart from this, KK also gave his voice for some popular television serials. He sang for our childhood favorite ‘Shaka Laka Boom Boom’, Kuch Jhuki Si Palkein, Just Dance, and Kkavyanjali. His popularity was not just limited to India, he even sang for a Pakistani television show, ‘The Ghost’.
KK has also given his super fabulous voice for thousands of jingles in more than ten languages. He sang for various commercial advertisements that worked as apt nostalgia. He voiced the iconic advertisement for Hero Honda, whose song became our humming line “Desh Ki Dhadkan”. He also sang the famous title track “Hip Hip Hurray”.
For the unversed, KK died due to a heart attack on May 31, last year. He suddenly felt unwell while performing at Nazrul Manch, Kolkata. He was declared dead by the doctors after arriving at the hospital.
