New Delhi: Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 is already at the second spot in the category of the highest-grossing film of 2023. It seems like the film is maintaining its momentum in its third week. In 13 days the film has minted 411.10 crores and now moving towards the mark of 450 crores. As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, the film made an Rs 10.40 crore on its 13th day.

The film’s collection is quite impressive as it was made at a budget of 60 crores. Gadar 2 director Anil Sharma recently said that the film was made in just 60 crores in a time when people are talking about Rs 600 crore films. He previously said that Sunny reduced his fee just for the sake of the film. He also shared that they were working with a limited budget therefore therefore they didn’t put any sets for the period film and didn’t use any visual effects.
Gadar 2 is trailing behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan which made Rs 543.05 crore in Indian theatres. With this Pathaan became the highest grosser of this year after its release in January. It is speculated that Gadar2 will soon surpass Pathan in domestic collection. The film had a smooth run for the two weeks but might face some competition from Ayushmann Khurran’s film Dream Girl 2 in the third week. Dream Girl 2 is the sequel to the 2019 film Dream Girl which was a hit at box office at that time.

Recently filmmaker, Karan Johar also spoke on the huge success of Gadar 2 and said its prequel was the hit of 2001 and now, after 22 years later,it is breaking all the records.
