The film features Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in pivotal roles. The film is a sequel to the 2001 hit film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and its part 2 is the follow-up of that film. In the film Sunny Deol has played the character of truck driver Tara Singh whereas Ameesha essayed the role of Sakina. Part 2 follows the story of Tara Singh and Sakina’s son is captured in Pakistan and Tara Singh crosses the border in order to rescue his son.
