Gadar: Ek Prem Katha to get re-released in theaters after the release of its sequel

New Delhi: Ahead of the release of  Gadrar 2, its prequel Gadar once again hit the theater on June 9. The film was first released in 2001 and was a huge hit, since then the film has received a huge appreciation for its melodious songs and memorable dialogues. The prequel of Gadar 2 will release in 4k resolution and Dolby atmos audio format.

There has been a lot of work done by Zee Studios to enhance the quality of audio and video before its re-release. The final 4k version was assembled and produced using videos from the original film. The visual effects, sounds, and background music all have been restored.

The estimated restoration of the film reached around the budget of 2 crores. The restored version of the film also has some extra scenes that were added there during its first release. The restored version of Gadar 2  will release on limited venues, it will be released on more screens depending on the number of people willing to watch it.

On the rerelease of Gadar 2, Zee studio CEO said Gadar: Ek Prem Katha holds a special place in the hearts of the people, by adding the enhancement in its visual and audio effects we want to give the fans to relive the iconic film.

Gadar is the story of  Tara Singh played by  Sunny Deol, a Sikh truck driver who falls in love with Sakina played by Amisha Patel, who is a Pakistani Muslim girl from a political family in Lahore. The movie shows a beautiful love story between both.
