Good Luck Jerry Trailer Release: Janhvi Kapoor plays Bihari woman in upcoming crime-comedy drama (VIDEO)

In the trailer, Janhvi can be seen playing a young woman from Bihar, who is now in Punjab for a living.

New Delhi: The trailer of Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Good Luck Jerry’ was dropped on the internet on July 14, following the teaser release a day before. The film is a black comedy in the crime genre and revolves around drugs in Punjab. The film is produced by Aanand L Rai.

‘Good Luck Jerry’ is the second directorial venture for Siddharth Sengupta, who first directed three episodes in the 2016 TV series ‘The Great Escape’. The plot of the film follows an innocent girl who gets pulled into the notorious world of cocaine smuggling. The film is the official remake of the Tamil movie ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’. The original film was written by Nelson Dilipkumar and the Hindi remake is written by Pankaj Matta, who is known for writing ‘Laal Rang’.

Cast

In the trailer, Janhvi can be seen playing a young woman from Bihar, who is now in Punjab for a living. She gets involved with the drug mafia as she has a terminally ill mother, played by Mita Vashisht. The film also stars Sushant Singh, Deepak Dobriyal and OTT star Sahil Mehta.

Release

The film will release on July 29 on Disney+Hotstar as part of DisneyPlus Hotstar Multiplex.

Janhvi’s Bihari Accent

Janhvi Kapoor opened up about training extensively for the Bihari accent in the film. She told that they had few coaches who taught them about the language and the accent. “I was made to do an exercise wherein he would make me say Bihari abuses as a part of the training. The whole process was a lot of fun eventually. I am so thankful about getting to know the syntax of that section of our country,” she added.
