New Delhi: The newest creation by Eric Newman and Andres Baiz, a limited mini-series inspired by the story of Griselda Blanco, the cocaine queen of Miami, is prepared to be served. In the upcoming series Griselda, Sofia Vergara will play the title character, which entails being a kind mother, a lovely lover, and a cunning businesswoman with a murderous bent when it comes to dealing with those who challenge her.
Despite Sofia Vergara’s fame in comedic roles—particularly from her tenure as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on Modern Family—her character here is darker, more vicious, and more unforgiving. The premiere date for the crime miniseries on over-the-top services is January 25, 2024.

Plot
Griselda chronicles the life of Griselda Blanco as she climbs the ladder of Miami’s drug cartels in the 1970s and 1980s. Griselda navigates and oversees her booming drug company with a lethal blend of brutality and charisma, all while navigating a world where men demand to see the boss whenever they see a woman speaking at a conference.
Interestingly, the US police were on the verge of apprehending her in Queens, New York, when she initially tried to operate the drug company. She took her family and her criminal husband and ran away from the nation as a result, only to return to Miami to launch her business a few years later.

Starting on January 25, 2024, Griselda will be available to view on Netflix. Six one-hour episodes will make up Griselda, a biopic on the life of the titular Griselda Blanco.

The filmmaker made a decision that paid off handsomely by casting Sofia Vergara as the primary character Griselda. Griselda tells the tale of a Colombian entrepreneur who, after migrating to the United States in search of a better life, ends up constructing an empire with nothing but her wits and a little help from her friends and family. Jose Velazquez, Juliana Aiden Martinez, Martin Rodriguez, Orlando Pineda, and others are among the other actors.
While speaking with Netflix, creator Eric Newman described the Griselda narrative as an unprecedented rise-and-fall story. Humour, emotions, thrills, fears, and horrors are all there. He said that Griselda Blanco was a contradictory heroine who was in conflict with herself on several levels and that she was an anti-hero on the highest level.
