New Delhi: On January 23, 2022, Nordisk Film released the film Hatching, which featured Siiri Solalinna and had its world debut at the Sundance Film Festival. On March 4, 2022, it had its theatrical debut in Finland. It took home first place and the Prix du Jury Jeunes at the 2022 Festival International du Film Fantastique de Gérardmer. Now, the film is finally ready for its OTT debut after all this time.
The psychological horror film Hatching was written and directed by Ilja Rautsi and Hanna Bergholm of Finland. Tinja, the film’s protagonist, is a young gymnast who is utterly focused on pleasing her mother, who is fixated on portraying the ideal family to the world.

Plot
Tinja, a girl of twelve, is the protagonist of the film. Her gymnastics practice is something her obsessive mother forces on her. When a crow comes too close to the home one day, Tinja’s mom kills it by snapping its neck. Telling her to toss it outside, she gives the order. Tinja finds the egg and dying crow a few days down the road.
She sneaks the crow’s egg inside her house and hides it under the pillow. Tinja can be seen placing her hand on the peculiar egg, which has significantly expanded in size. When the egg hatches into a peculiar monster, however, everything is turned upside down.

It is scheduled to be made available in digital format on March 29, 2024, according to the reports. The movie is available to view on Amazon Prime Video.
