New Delhi: Director Anurag Kashyap replied to Abhay Deol’s remarks calling him a ‘liar and toxic’ during an interview. Two have worked together in ‘Dev D’ and in a 2020 interview, Anurag stated that working with Deol was a ‘painfully difficult’ experience to which the actor replied by alleging Anurag of being a liar. Speaking with Mid-Day, the filmmaker said that he had already apologised for his remarks.
Abhay Deol, while promoting his web show ‘Trial by Fire’, said that Anurag had shared lies regarding his attitude and privilege of coming from the Deol family during the making of ‘Dev D’. Replying to his remarks Kashyap said that everyone has their own truth and maybe he felt attacked by his remarks. He added that he had already apologised for hurting the actor’s feelings.
Anurag went on to say that what he said about Abhay was in past and he has ‘evolved’ as a person. He said that the actor did a ‘great job’ in ‘Trial by Fire’ and it is time to celebrate his performance rather than indulging in who said what.
Anurag Kashyap is promoting his upcoming venture ‘Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat’ starring Alaya F and Karan Mehta. The film, produced by Zee Studios and Good Bad Films, will release in cinemas on February 3.
Meanwhile, Abhay Deol was last seen in ‘Trial by Fire’ on Netflix. The series is inspired by real-life incidents of parents seeking justice for the Uphaar Cinema Fire Tragedy, killing more than 50 people. The series stars Abhay and Rajshri Deshpande in lead.
