Plot
Tae In, a former fighter pilot with the Korean Air Force, became a commercial airline pilot in 1971. Yong Dae, along with the rest of the passengers and crew members—including Captain Kyu Sik and aeroplane Attendant Ok Soon—find themselves in the middle of a crisis on board a hijacked aeroplane.
The director’s goal in adapting a real-life event into a live-action film was to give viewers an authentic experience based on the 1971 hijacking of a Korean Air passenger plane on route to Seoul.

This Korean film, which is a combination of action, thriller, and crime, is scheduled to be released in theatres on June 21, 2024. In the future, it will be released on an over-the-top platform, the date of which has not yet been determined.

Cast and Crew
The action thriller film Hijacking, which was directed by Kim Sung Han, is based on a real-life hijacking of an aeroplane that occurred in 1971. The hijacking occurred when two South Korean pilots were compelled to reroute their jet, which was carrying 51 people, toward North Korea. Hijacking is the first film that Kim Sung Han has directed in his career. It was Kim Kyung Chan who penned the screenplay for the movie.
The movie has an A-list cast, including Ha Jung Woo as Tae In the pilot, Yeo Jin Goo as Yong Dae the passenger, Sung Dong Il as Gyu Sik the captain, and Chae Soo Bin as Ok Soon the flight attendant. Lee Si On and Moon You Kang are among the other supporting actors.
