New Delhi: With massive hopes & expectations, the makers of the sequel to Kamal Haasan’s 1996 blockbuster ‘Indian’ titled ‘Indian 2’ released their movie in theaters worldwide on July 12, 2024.
Boasting Kamal Hassan and Siddharth as the lead actors, the Tamil actioner hit the big screens amid huge fan frenzy but unfortunately failed to live up to the expectations of the fans. It not only received pathetic reviews from movie critics but was also met with disappointing reactions from the fans. As a result, the movie ended its theatrical run as a major box office flop, leaving all the stakeholders dejected & frustrated.
Indian 2 OTT Release
Despite Indian 2 turning out as a debacle at the Box Office, the craze amongst fans for its OTT premiere has remained intact. According to the latest reports, Netflix has bagged the movie’s digital streaming rights and is all set to roll it. Nevertheless, the confirmed OTT release date of the Tamil film is yet to be unveiled by the moviemakers.

Made with a staggering budget of Rs 250 crore, Indian 2 is written and helmed by renowned director S. Shankar. It sees Kamal Haasan in triple roles while also featuring other actors like S. J. Suryah, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Kalidas Jayaram, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Nedumudi Venu, Samuthirakani, Brahmanandam and Uday Mahesh playing key characters.
Anirudh Ravichander, in his first-ever collaboration with Shankar, has composed the thriller movie’s music while Udhayanidhi Stalin and Subaskaran Allirajah have produced it with the label of Red Giant Movies and Lyca Productions.
