International Emmy Awards 2023: Vir Das wins the award for best comedy series ‘Vir Das Landing’

New Delhi: Vir Das and Indian Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor are the proud Indians to win the award at the International Emmy Awards 2023 held in New York. Comedian Vir Das shared the award with ‘Desi Girls’ Season 3. His show ‘Vir Das Landing’ is currently streaming on Netflix. Another Indian who made the country proud is none other than the most popular name in the television industry Ekta kapoor who was honoured with the most prestigious Directorate award. The award was presented by the famous author Deepak Chopra.

The First season of Delhi Crime won the award for the best drama series in 2020. The International Emmy Awards are underway in New York and  is hosted by actor and comedian Rhys Darby. The nominations were announced in the month of September by the International Academy of Television Awards and Sciences.

The Filmmaker also gets emotional after receiving the award. She recalled the day when she started Balaji Productions from her father’s garage and thanked her mother. She held the award in her hand and said, this is for India. She won the award for her contribution in the television industry and entertainment. She has produced many popular TV shows like ‘Kabhi Saas bhi bahu thi’ ‘Kahani ghar ghar ki’ ‘Kasauti zindagi ki’ and Bade Ache lagte hain’
