Irrfaan Khan’s son Babil to make debut in Yash Raj Films’ OTT web-series

Babil Khan along with R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon and Divyenndu will be featuring in Yash Raj Films’ first OTT web series The Railway Men.

New Delhi: Yash Raj Films will be stepping into the venture of digital platforms with the web series The Railway Men. With that, late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil will be featuring in the series along with R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, and Divyenndu.

The Railway Men is based on the Bhopal gas tragedy of 1984. Sharing the first poster on Twitter, YRF Entertainment wrote, “You know the killer, this story is about the saviours.”

The Railway Men is the first OTT project from the Yash Raj banner which will be released next year.

Babil Khan also took to Instagram, declaring himself as “honoured” to be a part of The Railway Men. Sharing the poster he captioned, “Honoured to be a part of @yrfentertainment’s first OTT project #TheRailwayMen – a tribute to the unsung heroes of 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy. Saluting the courage of people who saved lives 37 years back.”

Babil Khan is the son of the late Irrfan Khan, who succumbed to cancer in 2020, and writer Sutapa Sikdar. Here’s the post that Babil shared on Instagram.

The web series will also feature R. Madhavan who previously starred in web series like Breathe and Decoupled while Kay Kay Menon starred in the Special Ops series and Divyenndu is a popular face from Permanent Roommates and Mirzapur.

The Bhopal gas tragedy happened on the night of December 2, 1984at the Union Carbide plant in Bhopal. More than 500,000 people were exposed to the toxic gas which is still present is considered to be the world’s worst industrial disaster.

The Railway Men will be directed by Shiv Rawail and will stream on December 2, 2022.
