‘It is my fault 100 percent…’: Akshay Kumar opens up about his recent flops

The actor recently opened up about his recent flops and took the onus of the poor performance on himself rather than blaming the audience.

New Delhi: Akshay Kumar is going through a dry spell at the box office and his latest film ‘Selfiee’ also did not perform well in the first two days. Until there is a drastic change to the audience’s take on ‘Selfiee’, the film might be the actor’s fifth flop in a row after ‘Bachchhan Paandey’, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and ‘Ram Setu’.

The actor recently opened up about his recent flops and took the onus of the poor performance on himself rather than blaming the audience. In an interview with AajTak, Akshay said that he is not in such kind of situation for the first time, he has had 16 consecutive flops at a time in his career. He added that there was a time when eight of his films did not work.

Akshay said that a film not working is his own fault. He added that the audience has changed, so one needs to change and dismantle oneself. He said that he has to start again because the audiences want to see something else.

The actor continued that the flopping of films is an alarm for the actor to change and he is trying to change. Akshay accepted that it is his complete fault as the audience might not like what he selected or the given ingredients in the film were not right for them.

Akshay Kumar’s last hit film was Rohit Shetty’s directorial ‘Sooryavanshi’, which earned nearly Rs 195 crore at the box office. His latest release ‘Selfiee’, starring Emraan Hashmi, Nusshratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty, has collected Rs 6.35 crore in two days.
