Iwájú OTT Release Date: Know when and where to watch Disney’s new animated adventure TV mini-series

Iwájú OTT Release Date: All six episodes of Iwájú will be made available for viewing on Disney Plus Hotstar on February 28, 2024, the day that the show will make its debut.

New Delhi: Iwájú was created by Disney Animation and Kugali, a British firm with pan-African roots. In this Disney original series, Lagos in the future is a place where appearances may be deceiving. The African science fiction series, directed by Olufikayo Ziki Adeola, is groundbreaking because it takes a perspective that has been underrepresented in Hollywood productions and international cinema.

Plot

As they face the mysteries and perils of their worlds, the protagonists of Iwájú—Tola, a girl hailing from an affluent island, and Kole, a software genius who taught herself—are followed. The show would supposedly explore topics like innocence, class, and questioning the status quo in a Lagos of the future.

Despite their social stratification, the trailer previously showed Tola and her buddy Kole sharing some tender moments of camaraderie. But Tola unwittingly steps into Bode’s trap when she and Kole go to the mainland of Lagos without supervision to evade the regulations and guards. Bode is her father’s nemesis. Otin comes to the rescue, which is a relief.

The preview presents a distinctive fusion of Nigerian culture and the essence of real Lagos with features of a future metropolis with readily accessible high-tech infrastructure. Being that ‘iwájú’ means ‘the future’ in Yoruba, this limited series will shed light on Lagos’s destiny in the future as well as the impending fortunes of two best friends and a charming robotic salamander who serves as a bodyguard.
