Jacqueline Fernandez reacts after song ‘Applause’ from her film ‘Tell It Like a Woman’ gets nominated for Oscars

New Delhi: The song ‘Applause’ from Jacqueline Fernandez starrer ‘Tell It Like a Woman’ got nominated for the Oscars in the Best Original Song category. The Bollywood actor penned a heartwarming note for the team behind the song and congratulated them for the achievement. The song has been nominated alongside RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’.

Sharing the news, Jacqueline wrote that she is ‘beyond words’ at the moment and it is an honour to be associated with the achievement. She also congratulated the team behind ‘Naatu Naatu’ for the nomination.

The song ‘Applause’ has been composed and penned by Diane Warren while Sofia Carson has performed the vocals. It is part of the motion film ‘Tell It Like a Woman’ which is a seven-part film about women’s stories, directed by women from different parts of the world. Jacqueline was part of the story starring transgender model Anjali Lama.

The nominations for the Best Original Song category also include ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and ‘This Is a Life’ from ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.

Indian films shined at the Academy Awards nominations as not only ‘Naatu Naatu’ but also Indian documentaries ‘All That Breathes’ and ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ bagged nominations in the Best Documentary Feature and Best Documentary Short categories respectively.

Meanwhile, ‘Naatu Naatu’, composed by MM Keeravani has gained global recognition after RRR’s success and also won the Golden Globe and a Critics Choice award.
