New Delhi: The movie “Jailer,” featuring Rajinikanth as retired police officer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, is an unstoppable success at cinemas worldwide. Within just 16 days of its release, the film is expected to earn a massive ₹600 crore globally. According to Sacnilk.com, on its third Friday, “Jailer” made around ₹2.5 crore nett in India across all languages. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the Tamil film has also been dubbed in Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu. The film achieved the impressive benchmark of ₹300 crore in India alone.
It hit theaters on August 10 and has been performing exceptionally well at the domestic box office. The movie opened with ₹48.35 crore nett and earned ₹235.85 crore in its first week. In its second week, it collected ₹62.95 crore. Estimated reports suggest that after earning ₹2.5 crore on Friday, the total collection of “Jailer” in India across all languages stands at ₹301.3 crore nett.
Recently, the movie “Jailer” achieved a significant milestone by becoming the third Tamil film to join the ₹500 crore club, following the success of “2.0” (2018) and “Ponniyin Selvan: I” (2022). Now, it is geared up to set yet another record. On Saturday, trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan shared on X, previously known as Twitter, stating,’RACING towards ₹600 cr club. Jailer OTT Release
According to reports, streaming platform Netflix has acquired the rights to stream ‘Jailer’ for a massive ₹100 crore. The movie has entered into a special four-week deal with Netflix, which means it is unlikely to be available on the platform in the first week of September. The action-thriller is expected to premiere on Netflix approximately 6-8 weeks after its theatrical release, possibly in the last week of September. However, there has been no official statement from the movie makers or Netflix regarding the OTT release of ‘Jailer’ yet.
