Jamtara 2: Show brings in bigger scams this time, check story, other details here

The scams are bolder as it is not just about credit or debit cards now, exam admit cards to dating apps to lotteries everything is a scam in Jamtara. 

New Delhi: After a great response for season 1, ‘Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega’ is back with the second season. The web series is based on phishing calls and cybercrime in India, where Jamtara is the hub for the same. ‘Jamtara 2’ is streaming on OTT from September 23 onwards.

Season 1 was released back in January 2020 while season 2 will continue to follow the themes of phishing calls and cybercrime as the problem is just increasing in the country. Directed by National Award winner Soumendra Padhi, the web show is penned by Nishank Verma and Trishant Srivastava. The plot revolves around a group of small-town young men, led by cousins Sunny and Rocky, running a phishing operation until a corrupt politician wants in on their scheme and a cop who will fight it.

Season 2 continues the scams by Sunny and Rocky, played by Sparsh Shrivastava and Anshuman Pushkar respectively. The cast also features Amit Sial, Monika Panwar, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Aasif Khan and others. The music in the series is composed by Sidhant Mathur, who is known for his work in ‘Budhia Singh: Born to Run’.

The story, set in Jharkhand’s Jamtara, begins from where it was left in the first season. Lives are not smooth sailing for Sunny, who narrowly escaped, and Gudiya, who is battling against Brajesh Bhan and it is not all hunky dory for Bhan as well. This time Sunny is in the common ward of a rural hospital, where he teaches phishing to young school children of Jamtara.

The show is streaming on Netflix from September 23 onwards. ‘Jamtara 2’ is produced under the banner of Viacom18 Studios’ Tipping Point Films.
