New Delhi: Day one profits for Shah Rukh Khan’s next film, Jawan, are expected to be between Rs 65 and 70 crores, which would surpass the opening day numbers for SRK’s own film, Pathaan.
The success of Pathaan marked the beginning of a successful year for Bollywood. People have returned to the theatres in droves thanks to films like Gadar 2, OMG 2, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and many more.
The nationwide excitement that Shah Rukh Khan has sparked has resulted in unprecedented pre-release sales of his next film, Jawan. As of now, ticket marketplace BookMyShow reports that over 7.5 million tickets have been sold in India.
It has been announced that more than 4500 theatres will be showing Jawan upon its premiere.
Trade analysts are convinced that Jawan will be a bigger opening weekend hit than Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
Taran Adarsh, an analyst for the film industry, recently commented on the present situation at the box office, saying that things are looking good. He is anticipating an opening day gross of between Rs 65 and 70 crores for the action film.

Girish Johar, an industry specialist, and film producer, predicts that Jawan will earn more than Rs 100 crore on its opening day, September 7. He told Indian Express that he expects to make at least Rs 60 crore in India and another $ 5 million in global markets.

The anticipation for Jawan, he said, is “humongous,” therefore theatres are going to screen it more often. He also stated that there would be morning showings of the film, bringing the total number of theatres showing it to over 4.5k.
There have been almost 3 lakh ticket sales for Jawan at national multiplexes. Manobala Vijayabalan, an industry expert in the film business, tweeted, “SOLD 7 lac tickets & CROSSES ₹20 cr gross mark across all theatres in India. National Multiplexes alone sells 3 lacs plus tickets for the opening day.” He also detailed the sales breakdown.

Atlee’s Jawan stars Shah Rukh in the title role. Stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi of the South Indian cinema industry also appear in the movie. There is a brief appearance by Deepika Padukone.
