Jawan Box Office Collection Day 1: Counting begins with all-time record-breaking 75 crores

New Delhi: On Thursday, September 7, Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Atlee, premiered in theatres amid much fanfare. The film’s first-day box office performance was very successful. The Bollywood superstar has set a new benchmark for himself. His latest film’s opening weekend was bigger than that of Pathaan, the previous record holder for Hindi-language films.

Early estimates suggest that Jawan earned 75 crores nett in India on its debut day for all languages combined, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. In Hindi, the film made 65 crores nett, while in Tamil and Telugu, it made 5 crores nett in each language. The opening day nett is reportedly the biggest for a Hindi film ever.

More than Rs 150 crore was made at the international box office. In addition, Jawan made AUD 400,000 in Australia on Thursday. As a result, it achieved a first for any Indian film in Australia. The film also had a stellar opening as number 1 in New Zealand, grossing NZ$ 79,805. Jawan opened in Germany with Rs 1.30 crore, placing it third. The movie is also having a great start in the United Kingdom, North America, and Canada.

About Jawan

Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma produce and co-produce the film Jawan for Red Chillies Entertainment. Production notes call Jawan “a high-octane thriller” about a guy who seeks to right society’s wrongs. Despair on the part of the government, corruption, suicide, a broken healthcare system, defective military equipment, and unsafe manufacturing located near residential areas are all addressed in the film.

The film also has Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the villainous weapons dealer Kalee, and Nayanthara, who plays the honest detective Narmada. Deepika Padukone also makes a significant appearance in the film.
