New Delhi: Todd Phillips, the director of the upcoming ‘Joker 2’ revealed the first look of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in the film. He shared an intimate picture of Joaquin Pheonix and Lady Gaga and wished his fans a Happy Valentine’s Day. The picture shows Pheonix as Joker with the iconic paint on his lips and nose and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, holding his cheeks.

The film was announced in June 2022 and there were speculations of singer Lady Gaga being a part of the musical sequel of ‘Joker’. Phillips confirmed the news in August last year and in December, he shared a picture of Pheonix on day 1 of the shoot.

The film is titled ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ and as per the comics, this might show the origin story of Harley Quinn. In the comics, Joker meets Harley in a mental asylum, where she works as a therapist Dr Harleen Quinzel and falls for Joker. The title ‘Folie à Deux’ also indicates a mental illness shared by two people.
The character of Harley Quinn was last played by Margot Robbie in the DC Extended Universe.
While Phillips is back with the sequel, it also marks his second collaboration with Lady Gaga after ‘A Star Is Born’. ‘Joker 2’ will release in cinemas on April 10, next year.
Fans were taken by surprise by Lady Gaga’s first look and they seems excited about the film.
