New Delhi: Acclaimed Kannada superstar Darshan’s blockbuster action drama Kaatera made it to the big screens back in December 2023.
Living up to the fans’ expectations, the film enjoyed a remarkable theatrical run and emerged as a massive commercial hit at the Box Office. By the conclusion of its BO journey, it managed to amass a whopping sum of Rs 104 crore and became one of the most successful Kannada films of all time.
Now, after more than a month since its premiere in the cinemas, the Kannada flick is all set to entertain the OTTioans by arriving on the digital platform.
Kaatera OTT Release Date
A few days back, the makers of the movie announced that Kaatera will start streaming on OTT platform Zee5 from 9 February 2024. Following that, the digital platform also shared the news of the Darshan starrer film’s OTT debut by dropping a post about the same from their official Twitter (N0w X) handle.
In the post, Zee5 shared the intriguing trailer of the film & attached it to a caption that read, “Neither a gun nor a hundred cannons can stop his running. Kaatera is coming on Zee5 from 9th February.”

Kaatera Story & Cast
Helmed by renowned director Tharun Sudhir, Kaatera is a tale inspired by real-life events that unfolded in a Karenatakan village about four decades ago. The film’s story, which is set in the 1970s, circles the life of a blacksmith Kaatera (Played by Darshan) who fights off several hurdles to help his village’s farmers with the Land Reform Act’s implementation. How he faces the challenges to defeat the affluent feudal lords Devaraya (Played by Jagapathi Babu) & Kaalegowda (Played by Vinod Kumar Alva) forms the crux of the story.
Speaking about Kaatera’s cast, the film sees several skilled actors like Darshan, Jagapathi Babu, Aradhana Ram, Shruti, and Vinod Kumar Alva in pivotal roles. It is produced by Rockline Venkatesh who released it under the banner of his production house Rockline Entertainments on December 29, 2023.
