New Delhi; Nag Ashwin’s upcoming since-fiction dystopian thriller Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most ambitious films of his directing career. After multiple delays, the movie is finally expected to make it to the theaters on May 9 2024 & fans are waiting for the same with bated breath.

At a recently held event (Synapse 2024) in Harayan’s Gurgaon city, Ashwin spilled the beans about Kalki 2898 AD’s timeline and discussed the movie’s connection with Mahabharata and lord Krishna. He revealed that the film’s story begins with Mahabharata and goes on for 6000 years before concluding in 2898 AD.
Elaborating further about Kalki 2898’s timeline, the director said that 6000 years back from 2898 AD is 3102 BC, the same year when Lord Krishna’s last avatar departed from the earth.

As the film’s name suggests, Kalki 2898 AD is believed to circle around Lord Vishnu’s final avatar Kalki who, as per Hindu beliefs, will arrive on earth to put an end to Kala Yuga by eliminating all the unholy forces and restore Dharma to taking the mankind towards peace, Truth & divine purity.
The film’s star-studded cast will see Pan-Indian superstar Prabhas in the lead role with renowned actors including Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Hassan playing other important characters. It is produced by C. Aswani Dutt and is set to release under the banner of Vijayanthi Movies on 9 May 2024.
