Kanguva OTT Release: Suriya’s ambitious upcoming project Kanguva is perhaps one of the most awaited movies of this year. Earlier scheduled to hit the screens on October 10, 2024, the fantasy film’s release was postponed indefinitely after the makers of Rajnikanth’s next action drama Vettaiyan announced that they will also roll out the movie on the same date.
Kanguva Locks OTT Deal
Meanwhile, with the announcement of Kanguna’s new premiere date still pending, Amazon Prime Video has purchased the movie’s digital rights, reportedly for a whopping amount of Rs 100 crore. This makes the Tamil period fantasy Suriya’s only movie to get sold at Rs 100 crores in an OTT deal.
Additionally, this also means that following the end of its theatrical journey, the Siva directorial actioner will make its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video, allowing viewers to access it right from the comfort of their homes in multiple languages including Tamil Malayalam Hindi Kannada, and Telugu.
Plot, Cast, and Production
Written by Adhi Narayana, Kanguva is reportedly a tale of a warrior hero who time travels from 1700s to 2023 in order to complete some unfinished business.
Made with a mega budget of RS 330 (Approx) crores, the epic fantasy actioner features a star-studded cast that sees renowned actors like Yogi Babu, Suriya, Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Jagapathi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, Redin Kingsley and Kovai Sarala essaying key roles.
V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy, K. E. Gnanavel Raja, and Pramod Uppalapati have produced the movie under the banner of Studio Green and UV Creations.
