Kanneda OTT Release: This series entails the hardships that come with being an immigrant in a foreign land where things aren’t as familiar and the people are not so friendly.
Kanneda features Parmish Verma, a prominent figure in the Punjabi entertainment industry in the lead role of Nimma. The ensemble cast includes notable actors such as Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Ranvir Shorey, Arunoday Singh, Aadar Malik, and Jasmin Bajwa. Their collective performances are anticipated to bring depth and dynamism to the series.
Nimma is a young man who narrowly escapes the devastating anti-Sikh riots of 1984. They leave his homeland in turmoil and his life forever changed. Forced to flee in search of safety and a better future, he embarks on a perilous journey to Canada. There he hopes to rebuild his life from scratch.
However, the reality of his new surroundings is far from the dream he envisioned.
Upon his arrival, Nimma quickly realizes that Canada though is full of opportunities. It is also a land of immense struggles for immigrants like him. He faces relentless discrimination, cultural alienation, and the harsh realities of survival in a foreign land.
With limited resources and little support, he must navigate a society that is often unwelcoming and unforgiving. The local community is divided by class and race. Hence, it makes it difficult for him to find a place where he truly belongs.
As he battles the challenges of making ends meet, finding stability, and earning respect, Nimma is forced to make tough choices. Determined to rise above his circumstances, he gradually becomes entangled in the city’s underground world, where power dynamics shift rapidly and survival depends on strength, wit, and ambition.
As he ascends through the ranks, he grapples with his own identity, questioning how far he is willing to go to claim a position of authority and respect.
