Kantara 2: Rishab Shetty’s script finalised for Kantara prequel, official announcement yet to be done

According to insiders, the sequel screenplay has been finalized by the crew, and producers Vijay Kiragandur and Rishab Shetty are pleased with it.

New Delhi: According to sources close to the filmmaker and the movie’s lead actor, Rishab Shetty’s movie has a finished narrative and will soon make an official announcement. ‘Kantara’ producer Hombale Films had already revealed the sequel’s upcoming shooting at the movie’s 100-day anniversary celebration. The writing of the script began in March.

According to insiders, the sequel screenplay has been finalized by the crew, and producers Vijay Kiragandur and Rishab Shetty are pleased with it.

The movie’s admirers are anxiously anticipating its release as word of the development has circulated around the industry.

Despite the rain, the film’s crew is scouting sites, according to sources close to Rishab Shetty. According to insiders, the movie will start production if all goes according to plan in June.

Kantara, one of the most popular films of 2022, was played at the UN, and Rishab Shetty posted photos from the event. Rishab gave an oral declaration before the UN on March 16, 2016, on behalf of the Indian non-profit organization ECO FAWN. The Centre for Global Affairs and Public Policy (CGAPP) tweeted this. According to accounts, Rishab joined the UN officials for a private meal.


The historical action thriller, which Rishab wrote and directed, opened to a roaring reception on September 30. The film reportedly cost only Rs 16 crore to produce, but it has now grossed more than Rs 500 crore in theatres throughout the world.


A little settlement in the Kaadubettu forests in the southern coastal state of Karnataka serves as the setting for the narrative of Kantara. A rebel protects his community and the environment in this intriguing story of human vs natural struggle, where death causes a fight between the inhabitants and evil powers, including Shiva. Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, and Pramod Shetty all play significant parts in the movie, which is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under the banner of Hombale Films.
