Kantara locks its OTT date? Coming soon on this platform on Nov 24, says reports

New Delhi: Rishab Shetty starrer ‘Kantara’ is said to have locked its release date on the OTT, months after its unstoppable & dream run at the Box Office.

Many reports suggest that the movie is set to make its OTT debut on Amazon Prime Videos next week, on November 24. It is learnt that Amazon Prime has bagged the digital rights of the action-thriller for online streaming on its platform.

Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara hit the theatres without any noise but over last few months it has been going great guns with theatres running in full occupancy. Earlier also, reports surfaced about its release on OTT platform but that got differed. The makers bought more time for Kantara’s OTT debut, apparently on back of its astounding success at the big screen.

Earlier, the movie was slated to release on OTT on November 4, then on November 18. Now, many reports claim that the makers have made their mind for Nov 24 release and this time, the dates won’t change.

The filmmaker and Amazon Prime have though refrained from commenting anything on November 24 OTT release date for the blockbuster.

The movie starring actor Rishab Shetty (also director of movie) has achieved a cult status and its revenue collection is surpassing many records. Last week, Kantara became the second highest-grossing Kannada film of all time as it left behind Yash-starrer movie ‘KGF: Chapter 1’.


The Hindi version of the movie is also heading towards Rs 100 crore club, a feat not achieved by many Bollywood movies in post-Corona period.

The movie, originally a Kannada film released in theatres on September 30. On back of it astounding success, the movie was dubbed in other languages including Hindi, Malyalam, Telugu & Tamil. The Hindi version was released in theatres on October 14.

The film has a compelling storyline and it’s visual effects is leaving viewers impressed and longing for more.

The movie is centered around theme Man Vs Nature. In the movie, Rishab Shetty plays a Kambala champion who is ready to go to extreme length to save his land. His fierce love for land is challenged by an upright Forest Range officer.
