New Delhi: Khufiya, a film that has been eagerly anticipated by fans, was made available on Netflix for the first time on October 6 after the filmmakers first piqued their interest with an interesting trailer. Tabu, Ali Fazal, and Wamiqa Gabbi feature as the main characters in the suspenseful espionage thriller that was directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
In addition to them, Ashish Vidyarthi and Azmeri Haque Badhon are also featured in the movie. Amar Bhushan’s book Escape to Nowhere, which he penned while working as the chief of R&AW’s Counter Espionage Unit, was the source of inspiration for the movie Khufiya, which is based on actual events.
Trailer:
Farhad Ahmed Dehlvi’s evocative cinematography gives the film a tight embrace, evoking exactly the perfect amount of interest in some scenes.
Everybody knows that Vishal Bhardwaj develops his female characters with a little extra fire, and this movie is a perfect illustration of that. Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Azmeri Haque Badhon are a powerhouse acting trio that carry the picture.
Tabu, at her usual best, brings Krishna Mehra alive via her ‘khufiya’ look. Gabbi, the most subtle of the three, has stepped up the game to be people’s favourite inspiration.
The adaptation of Amar Bhushan’s spy book Escape to Nowhere has been well received by audiences thus far. Most netizens paid a particular reference to Wamiqa’s impressive performance.

KHUFIYA has some terrific ideas and a few stumbles. Tabu is mesmerising. Review: https://t.co/jBaxfvD320

#KhufiyaReview (⭐️⭐️⭐️)#Khufiya has a good storyline but dull & mostly lifeless execution. Director seemed more interestd in showing #WamiqaGabbi naked (Totally unnecessary). Screenplay in 2nd half crashes completly, while music adds a depressing tone to the film. Acting was ok pic.twitter.com/Bgf3KV5O5o

#Khufiya REVIEW : Good thriller movie but there is also some flaws in this movie. Expectations were too high but if fulfills only 60% of my expectations. Ali Fazal & Wamiqa gabbi Gave Brilliant Performance. Tabu mam ❤. Bas Vishal Bharadwaj Sir Se Jyada Umeed Thi

Vishal Bhardwaj’s crafty, gripping spy drama has the length of a movie & satisfaction of long form. The filmmaker is in fine, fine form as are his two leading ladies (make that three, really). More Tabu-Wamiqa in one frame, pls. Enjoyed #Khufiya. Review: https://t.co/moSDIm6AhR

Here’s my honest review for the film #Khufiya!
My Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐ (3 out of 5)
AVERAGE & OKAY THRILLER with very few thrilling moments and revelations. 1st half is very good.
Watch it only if you’re a #Tabu Fan! #KhufiyaReview #KhufiyaOnNetflix pic.twitter.com/mNVdbOhtKL— Veer Patel (@patelveer2687) October 6, 2023
Even though Khufiya marks the first time that Bhardwaj helms a spy thriller, the writer-director seems more interested in treating the film as a drama. Review of #Khufiya by @PouloCruelo in @TheFederal_News https://t.co/w4J9CNUSGf

Khufiya review: Vishal Bharadwaj-Tabu’s brand new release is a weak espionage drama https://t.co/KG52eESjsv My review of the film in Southfirst. This reunion of Tabu and Vishal Bardhwaj leaves the viewers with a bitter aftertaste.
