New Delhi: Dulquer Salmaan’s recently released King of Kotha is failing to collect a decent amount at the box office. The film was released on Thursday (25 August 2023). As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has minted only 2 crores on Sunday including all the languages. It was dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada and originally made in Malayalam. Dulquer Salmaan is also backing the film as a producer, It features Shabeer Kallarakkal, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Prasanna Gokul Suresh, and many others in the key roles.
As per Sacnilk.com, the film collected Rs 13.5 crore in its first weekend. On Thursday, King of Kotha minted 6.85 crore net out of which its Malayalam version earned Rs 5.6 crore, the Telugu and Tamil version earned 85 Lakh and 40 lakh respectively. On Friday, the film has earned Rs 2.6 crore in all the languages. The film further collected 2.05 crore on Saturday and an estimate of 2 crore on Sunday.

King of Kotha is helmed by Abhilash Joshi and produced by Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. It is the directorial debut of Abhilash Joshi featuring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. The film was announced in July 2021 and the shooting was wrapped up in early 2023. The film hit the theatres on 24 August 2023 worldwide on the occasion of Onam.

King of Kotha is a gangster drama featuring Dulquer as Koyha Rajendran ’Raju’or Raju Madrassi, Aishwarya Lekshmi as Tara, Raju’s girlfriend and love interest in the film. Shabeer K allarakkal who is known for Tamil Films also made his Malayalam debut with this film. In an interview with PTI, Dulquer said he is very thrilled to do the movie as the story of the film is interesting and It had Dulquer Salmaan and Zee studios , what could be the best thing to make a debut than this.
