New Delhi: After years of postponement, production has officially commenced on Sony’s Spider-Man Universe standalone film Kraven the Hunter, and fresh images and plot information have surfaced.
The trailer for the upcoming film shows Kraven the Hunter delivering savage takedowns and introduces the new Spider-Man nemesis, Rhino. The film will feature Kraven as a distinct and lethal antagonist and is expected to be released on August 30, 2024.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) hinted at the return of Sergei Kravinoff, better known as Kraven, a legendary Spider-Man villain who was co-created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Production on the Sony film began in Europe in 2022 after years of postponement.

On June 19, 2023, the first trailer for Kraven the Hunter was published, giving fans a glimpse of the next film. The movie’s release window was also changed; after many rescheduling, Sony settled on August 30, 2024, as the ultimate release date.
The picture will have a theatrical run, then go on Digital and home video, before finally making its way to Netflix for streaming.
Plot
Officially, Kraven the Hunter has not revealed its narrative yet. Kraven, a Russian game catcher, aspires to become the greatest hunter in the world by locating Spider-Man, therefore the plot can be expected to inevitably centre on him.
In this picture, he may play the role of an anti-hero rather than a villain, much like Morbius and Venom. Some believed that Sony’s plans to adapt the comic book series Kraven’s Last Hunt may be relevant to the narrative of the film, as revealed by screenwriter Richard Wenk.
In terms of the trailer, included several graphic killings as Kraven dispatched both mercenaries and poachers.
Release Date
The SAG-AFTRA strikes undoubtedly caused Kraven the Hunter to be pushed back from its original October 6, 2023 release date to August 30, 2024. The film nevertheless encountered other delays and rescheduling.

Other Details
Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk wrote the screenplay for Kraven the Hunter, which is directed by J.C. Chandor. After Morbius, Venom, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Sony has Kraven the Hunter in the works as their fourth villain project.
