New Delhi: Lantrani, Zee5’s newest anthology film, resumes the streak of anthologies after a hiatus. With the arrival of a brand-new cast for 2024, Zee5 is gearing up to premiere an anthology including A-listers like Johnny Lever, Jitendra Kumar, and Jisshu Sengupta.
Lantrani is counting on the fact that a trio of top-class filmmakers—Gurugvinder Singh, Kaushik Ganguly, and Bhaskar Hazarika—will inevitably create something spectacular.
The creators piqued the audience’s attention with an intriguing teaser that was posted earlier. On their official social media account, they have also shared the anthology’s trailer. The trailer provides a fascinating introduction to this intriguing universe.
Plot
The films that Lantrani follows are those that address a variety of social taboos, and they are connected by a common thread. Three films are featured in the first volume of Lantrani. These films are titled “Dharna Mana Hai,” “Hud Hud Dabang,” and “Sanitized Samachar.” Each of the three films is an independent production, and each of them delivers a distinctive voice.
The official summary states that each film does an excellent job of capturing the ridiculous realities that are present in the rural terrain of India. The many parts of rural and small towns, where people resort to ridiculous means to live, served as the source of inspiration for the story.
A previous teaser and trailer provided us with a sense of how power governs everything; one chapter of the anthology will also address the epidemic.
When and Where to Watch?
The sole distribution of Lantrani will take place on Zee5. On February 9, 2024, the anthology is scheduled to be made available for streaming.

Cast and Crew
Jisshu Sengupta, Nimisha Sajayan, Johnny Lever, and Jitendra Kumar are the main actors in the three films. Rajesh Awasthi, Bhagwan Tiwari, Sanjay Mahanand, and Boloram Das are among the supporting actors.
Looking at the roster of directors working on the three films makes Lantrani even more intriguing. Under Gullak’s supervision, the three directors who won national awards have come together. Dharna Mana Hai was directed by Gurvinder Singh, while Hud Hud Dabang was headed by Kaushik Ganguly. In Sanitized Samachar, Bhaskar Hazarika served as the director.
