Laughing Buddha OTT Release: The Kannada comedy drama is arriving in the OTT screens from 18th October on Prime Video. The film was released on 30th August 2024, and received positive response from fans and critics. Cast and Production The film is produced by Rishabh Shetty and written and directed by M Bharath Raj. The cinematography was handled by S. Chandrasekaran, while the editing was done by K. M. Prakash and music by Vishnu Vijay. Plot After the massive success of the film 'Kantara', Producer Rishab Shetty is back with yet another blockbuster to woo the hearts of the audience and this time he's coming up with a comedy film. The Tamil fans have been waiting for some interesting content by Rishab Shetty and this time he is coming up with full entertaining masala film 'Laughing Buddha''.The story of the film follows the life of a cop who loves eating and loves his family and profession, however things take a dramatic turn when he is warned by his department that over weight can cost his job. Being a cop, he cares less about being fit and keep munching all the time. He also treats all the criminals in a soft manner and shares food with them too. However things take a dramatic turn.. When people in his department start taking advantage of him and eventually he gets a letter of suspension from his senior. The title of the film is also 'Laughing Buddha' The title represents the cop 'Govardhan' who smiles all the time and he looks like a laughing Buddha in the film. The trailer begins with a man calling the Police station and tells to come quickly As some men are beating someone mercilessly and the cop answers the call in a light manner describing about 'Govardhan'. Meanwhile after facing suspension threat and trolling.. Govardhan decides to control his diet and tells his wife he won't eat dinner from now on. later the wife spots him eating secretly in the kitchen.
