Leo vs Jawan Collection: Shah Rukh Khan wins the battle on Day 3, Thalapathy Vijay’s actioner lags behind

Leo’s makers were unable to get their movie released in National Chain multiplexes after they failed to come to terms with the multiplex owners

New Delhi: Thalapathy Vijay’s eagerly awaited action thriller Leo finally made it to be big screens this past Friday.

From its first day itself, the actioner released amid high buzz and expectations, stormed the box office and amassed a  monumental figure of Rs 148 crore.

While the movie’s bumper opening collection made many Vijay fans believe that it would continue to wreak havoc on its second day as well, Leo proved them wrong by only managing to mint Rs 35.46 crore on Day 2 after its collection saw a major drop  40 %  drop on the ticket window.

However, the Thalapathy Vinay starrer soon regained its lost momentum on its third day and spiked its collection to Rs 40 crore (early estimates) which means the total domestic collection of Leo’ after its three-day long run at the BO stands at a whopping Rs 140+ crores.

Leo vs Jawan Box Office Battle

In just a single day at the box office, Vijay’s Leo managed to outperform Shah Rukh’s Magnum Opus Jawan on numerous fronts by not only becoming the highest opening Indian movie on Day 1 (worldwide) but also being the first movie to register this may shows in the United States.

However, the much-hyped movie’s Box Office collection remained behind SRK’s latest blockbuster Jawan, which minted Rs 202 crore in India on its first three days (Day 1: 75 crore, Day 2: 53 crore, Day 3: 74 crore), by a huge margin and experts are now blaming its makers for the same.

Movie analysts are predicting that if it was not for Leo’s maker’s decision not to release the film in national multiplexes, Leo would have undoubtedly performed much better at the box office and might have even shattered numerous records of Shah Rukh’s Jawan.

For the unversed, Leo’s makers were unable to get their movie released in National Chain multiplexes after they failed to come to terms with the multiplex owners. As a result, Leo was only released in non-national multiplexes and single-screen cinemas and the same is now adversely affecting its BO collection.

However, it is praiseworthy that despite all this, Leo is holding strong at the box office and has so far earned a handsome amount of Rs 140+ (domestic) on the ticket windows.
