Let It Be OTT Release Date: Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s 1990s music documentary on The Beatles is coming for online streaming

Let It Be OTT Release Date: Let It Be, the original 1970 film about The Beatles directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg, will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus Hotstar on May 8, 2024, according to Disney+.

New Delhi: Let It Be, a documentary on The Beatles from 1970 that had been out of circulation for decades, has been revived by Peter Jackson’s production firm. Under Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s direction, Let It Be documents the making of the band’s last album of the same name. Just weeks after the band’s formal separation announcement, it was released to the public.

Despite showing the group’s chaotic month-long recording session, the documentary is now mostly known as a little-seen oddity documenting their final days.

Jackson’s 2021 documentary The Beatles: Get Back, which was an eight-hour epic assembled from about sixty hours of behind-the-scenes material originally filmed for Lindsay-Hogg’s film, Let It Be was likewise the jumping off point.

About the Documentary

A back-to-basics record the Beatles attempted to make to reawaken their old group spirit ended up driving them more apart, as is seen in the documentary. Released in May 1970, in the middle of the chaos surrounding The Beatles’ split, Let It Be now deserves its position in the band’s history.

Revamped and set against the backdrop of new disclosures in Peter Jackson’s Emmy Award-winning documentary series, The Beatles: Get Back, the film is now accessible to a wider audience after its restoration. The documentary series captured a watershed event in music history and premiered on Disney+ in 2021. It features the band’s friendship and love.

Includes material not seen in the Get Back documentary series, Let It Be transports viewers to January 1969 to Apple Corps’ London rooftop and inside the studio as The Beatles, Billy Preston, and others compose and record the Grammy-winning album Let It Be.

Similar to the documentary series The Beatles: Get Back, Let It Be will include restored film clips and audio generated by Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post Production, the same de-mixing technologies that were used to make the Beatles’ last song.
